Hindi Divas in Moscow, Russia

DP Dhar Hall, Embassy of India to Russian Federation, Moscow, Russia

RSUH Hindi group students of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) participated the festival devoted to Hindi Divas, held in Moscow, Russia at the DP Dhar Hall, Embassy of India to Russia.

HE Mr B. Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to Russia inaugurated the opening ceremony. The organizers of the Hindi Divas festival:
Ms Mahima Sikand, Director of the Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNCC),
Dr. Kashmir Singh, president of the Hindustani Samaj Association,
Dr Yogender Nagpal, the Hindustani Samaj Association,
Dr Rameshwar Singh, Russian-Indian Friendship Society (DISHA),
Mr Sushil Kumar Azad and Mr Vinayak – Hindi teachers of Kendriya Vidyalay school and others.

A lot of people took part in this event. This is a very significant annual event for those who study Hindi language.

RSUH Hindi premi students - Jikia Olga, Sokolov Grigory, Vorontsova Anastasia, Oleynikova Ekaterina, Belova Anna, Kuznetsova Anna, Valenyuk Ksenia, Korzhenevskaya Alexandra, Kalinichenko Stepan , Krajushkin Andrey, Tatarsky Nikita , Gerenkova Darya , Pavlyukov Rostislav , Anastasia Kretova, Plotnikov Alena , Leonid Poddyakov, Seminа Anastasia recited the two poems of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indian politician who served three terms as the Prime Minister of India. The Russian students who began to study Hindi only two weeks decided to learn the poem of named “Svatantarta divas ki pukar”.

There also was an essay competition in Hindi and RSUH students Maria Scheglova, Vera Lebedeva and Rishabh Sharma received the certificates of merit.

Students of the three Moscow Universities showed their ability to Hindi language proficiency.

The students of the Institute of the Asian and African Studies (IAAS) Moscow State University sang three songs among which was - “Mera juta he japani”.

The students of the Moscow University of the international relations and the schoolboys and girls from the Kendriya Vidyalay school presented a play.

Two Hindi teachers - Dr Guzel Strelkova and Ms.Ekaterina Kostina were awarded by memorable gifts and a cash prize from the Dr Rameshwar Singh, Russian-Indian Friendship Society (DISHA).

Moscow State Regional University (MSRU) teachers and students visited the Hindi Divas festival: Dr Olesya Kabalina – Head of the Department of foreign languages, Ms Elvira Baturina and Mr Vladimir Skripeyshuk, Deputy Head of the Department for Organization of Research studies and International Relations.

The students of MSRU organized the club of Indian friends in Russia. They are fond of India and are going to study Hindi language and learn Hindi dialects - Ageenko Oksana, Anastasia Kostenkova, Slezkina Ekaterina, Sosinkina Nina, Tubel Daria, Shabliy the Svetlana, Volochuk Anna, Karpova Anastasia, Kaverina Tatiana, Savushkina Catherine, Subbotina Christina, Ivanova Ksenia, Kazmirskaya Uliana, Vodyaeva Natasha, Bolotnikova Daria.
